I'm at the CCVL opener this Saturday. How do I follow the scores?
Scan the QR at your court or open vollefy.com/watch for live scores, standings and brackets. For the fastest scores inside the gym, get the app and tap Watch nearby: it finds every live court around you over Bluetooth, no code and no Wi-Fi needed.
Can I use it for pickup or open gym?
That's the fastest way in. Open Gym mode runs casual two-team matches with a big readable scoreboard and none of the officiating overhead. Pick two teams, tap to score, swap sides. Tuesday-night simple.
Does it really work without Wi-Fi?
Yes, that's the core design. The scoring device talks directly to nearby phones, viewer tablets and the paired display over Bluetooth (about a 20 to 40 meter range indoors), so live scoring and live watching keep working in a dead-zone gym. When any device gets internet again, results sync up to the web automatically.
How do friends and parents watch?
In the gym, they open the app and tap Watch nearby, or enter the match's short code (like WAVE-2041). Both work over Bluetooth with no internet. Anywhere else, anyone can follow at vollefy.com/watch in a browser while the scoring device is online.
What do I need to run it?
An iPhone or iPad. Vollefy is on the App Store today; the Android version is in Google Play review and coming soon. Any phone can score open gym, and tournaments run on the organiser's tablets. No special scoreboxes, no cellular plans.
Is the scoring actually USAV-legal?
When you flip into USAV mode, the app enforces USAV domestic rules live: rotation order, 15 substitutions per set, two liberos with every exchange tracked, two timeouts per set, and correct set formats. It also produces the official USAV scoresheet as a PDF. High school, beach, and casual formats are built in too.
What does it cost?
Vollefy is in early access. Using the app and running matches is free while we build alongside early gyms, clubs, and directors. Pricing will be announced well before that changes.
