Privacy Policy

Vollefy is a product of Vollefy LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This policy covers the Vollefy scoring app for phones and tablets and the Vollefy director console at vollefy.com. It says what we record, why we record it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it.

There is no account in the app

You do not sign up, and we never ask for your name, email address or phone number to score a match. When the app first runs it creates an anonymous identifier for that installation. It is a random value. It is not linked to you, to your device’s advertising identifier, or to anything you do outside Vollefy. We use it for one thing: so that a set of records from one tablet can be recognised as coming from the same tablet, and so that you can ask us to delete them.

Directors who run tournaments do have an account on the console, and for them we hold an email address and the tournaments they manage.

What the app records

• How the app is used. Which screens you open and which controls you tap, the app version, the device model, and the operating system version. We use it to find the parts of the app that confuse people and fix them.
• When something goes wrong. If the app crashes or a screen fails to load, it sends us the error, the first few lines of the technical stack trace, the screen you were on, and the last few lines of its own diagnostic log. Credential-shaped text is stripped automatically, and there is no field for anybody’s name.
• How well it is connecting. Whether data reached our servers, whether the Bluetooth link to another device held, and how long those took.
• The match data you enter. Team names, player names and jersey numbers, scores, substitutions and the rally-by-rally record. This is the product: it is what a scoresheet is made of.
• Feedback you choose to send. If you tap Send feedback, we receive the rating you picked, the note you typed, the screen you sent it from and the names of the last few things the app did, so we can understand what you meant. Nothing is sent until you tap Send.

What we never collect

• Your name, email address, phone number or postal address, in the app.
• Your location. The app asks Android for location permission for one technical reason only: versions of Android before 12 require that permission to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices. Vollefy never reads a position, and never stores one.
• Any advertising identifier. Vollefy contains no advertising, no advertising SDK, and no analytics from any other company. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never share data with data brokers.
• Your contacts, photos, calendar, microphone or health data.
• Anything you type, other than match and roster information and the feedback you choose to send us. No search terms, no PINs, no free text anywhere else.
• Team, player or tournament names inside usage records. Those live with the match, never in the usage data.

What the website records

vollefy.com stores one first-party cookie holding a random visitor identifier, so that repeat visits can be told apart from new ones. With it we record which pages are viewed, which buttons are clicked, how far down a page people read, the browser family, and a rough screen-size bucket. We do not store your IP address alongside these records, we do not record the full address of the page that sent you here, and we do not use any cross-site or advertising cookie.

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, the website records nothing at all.

Children and young players

Vollefy is rated 13+ and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13.

Junior volleyball means that rosters often contain the names and jersey numbers of players who are minors. That information is entered by a scorer, coach or tournament director about a player — not by the player about themselves — and it is kept as part of the match record for the organisation running the event. A tournament director can delete their event’s data, and a parent or club can ask the director, or us, to remove a player’s details.

Scores are a record kept by users, not an official result

Vollefy records what the person operating it enters. Scores, statistics, scoresheets and standings produced by the app are the record kept by those users. They are not certified results, and where an event has its own official scoresheet or governing-body procedure, that document governs. Do not rely on Vollefy as the authoritative record of a match outcome, ranking or qualification.

Bluetooth

Vollefy uses Bluetooth so that a scoreboard, a second tablet or a spectator’s phone can follow a match being scored nearby, without needing internet at the venue. It connects only to other devices running Vollefy, it exchanges only match information, and it does not scan for or record any other device you own.

How long we keep things

• Usage records: 180 days.
• Crash and error reports: 30 days.
• Feedback you send: one year.
• Match and roster data: kept with the match. Matches you scored on your own, and their rosters, are deleted whenever you ask. Matches scored on a tournament court are kept until the tournament director who owns the event deletes them.
• An anonymous installation identifier with no data attached to it is removed after 180 days of inactivity.
• Director accounts: for as long as the account exists.

Deleting your data

In the app, open Settings → Delete my data. That removes, from our servers, everything that installation sent us: its usage records, its crash reports, the feedback it sent, the matches it scored on its own, and the team and player names it typed for those matches. The app shows you how much it is about to remove before you confirm.

It does not remove anything a tournament needs. Matches scored on a tournament court, and the rosters those matches use, belong to the event and to other people who depend on them — a result cannot vanish from a bracket because one scorer cleared their tablet. Ask the tournament director for those, or write to us and we will pass it on. It also does not erase the copy held on your own device; uninstalling the app does that.

Directors can delete their tournaments from the console, or email support@vollefy.com to have an account and its data removed.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers, analytics companies or data brokers. Vollefy is hosted on Supabase (database, authentication and file storage) and Vercel (website hosting), and email is delivered by Resend and Cloudflare. These companies process data on our behalf as service providers and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Push notifications on iPhone and iPad are delivered through Apple’s notification service. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections. Usage and crash records are stored where no app or browser can read them back — only we can, through a private administrative connection. Access PINs are stored as one-way hashes, never as text.

Your choices

You can delete your data at any time, as described above. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to ask what we hold, to correct it, or to receive a copy. Email support@vollefy.com and we will answer. Vollefy operates from the United States and data is processed there.

Changes

If we change what we collect, why, how long we keep it or how to delete it, we will change the version at the top of this page. The app records which version you agreed to and will ask again when it moves.
